Endowed Scholarship

Endowed funds provide an unmatched source of financial stability and predictable growth for educational institutions. Saint John’s Catholic Prep has established an endowment fund to assist in building a strong financial foundation that will strengthen our mission.

Endowment gifts may be directed to the general endowment fund or to one of the endowed scholarship funds that have been established.

Gifts to the endowment can be made in the form of cash or tangible property, such as stock, bonds that are invested to generate income for a designated purpose. Endowed gifts are held in perpetuity and managed to generate investment income. Typically, a small percent of the investment income is spent for the purpose designated and any income in excess is returned to the endowment to ensure it continues to grow over time.  The Saint John’s Catholic Prep Endowment is being managed by Morgan Stanley.

Endowed scholarships provide a steady and reliable stream of support. These funds generally grow over time, generating income for many of our scholarship awards. When you give to an endowed scholarship, you are making a personal impact on the lives of our students.

The opportunity to fund a scholarship in the memory or honor of a loved one ensures that their memory lives on in a community that meant something to them. Endowing a scholarship is often the start of a ripple effect of philanthropy, as recipients are very likely to ‘pay it forward’ in their futures.
