The Parents page of our website is an excellent resource for families.  I encourage you to explore the page to learn more about being a Viking Parent! There is a lot of valuable information that is not password protected.  In July, you will receive a username and password that will give you access to additional resources. 

Uniforms & School Materials

Q: What does my child need to wear to school and where do I buy uniforms?

A: SJCP uniform guidelines are outlined in our Uniform Guide and can be purchased from Flynn O’Hara. When you visit Flynn O’Hara’s website, you’ll select your child’s gender, and the uniforms will populate.  Please note that not all components of our uniform need to be purchased from Flynn O’Hara. 

Q: Does SJCP host a used uniform sale?

A: Yes!  We will be hosting a Used Uniform Sale on Saturday, June 12 from 10-11:30 am. Bring your child with you to check for sizing. Unfortunately, students will not be able to try uniforms on. Cash and check will be accepted. 

Q: Do students have to wear an SJCP PE uniform?

A: At this time, there is no PE uniform.  Students should abide by the PE dress code, consisting of sneakers, socks, an athletic t-Shirt, and athletics shorts or pants.

Q: How and when do I purchase books for my child?

A: After you have received your child’s schedule, please visit the MBS Direct Book Online Store website to purchase books for your child’s classes. Using your child’s schedule, select the courses he or she will be taking. The necessary books will be displayed. You may have the option to purchase a new, used, or digital copy of the book. Some books are provided by the school. They will not be listed for purchase on the MBS website.

Q: Does my child need additional supplies for his/her classes?

A: A supply list is not provided. Generally speaking, students will need writing utensils and notebooks, and/or loose-leaf paper for each class. During the first week of school, teachers will inform students of any additional supplies they may need. 

Q: When will my child get their school-issued laptops?

A: All new students will receive their school-issued laptops during orientation. In order to receive their laptop, parents and students must have signed the SJCP Acceptable Use Policy. This will be available at the end of July. 

Important Dates

Q: Where can I find a calendar for the 2021-2022 school year?

A: This calendar is not all-inclusive but should provide you with the most important dates for next year. A more comprehensive calendar will be sent home by the end of July. As always, the calendar on our website has the most up-to-date information. 

Q: When is Freshmen Orientation?

A: Freshmen Orientation will be from August 30 to September 1, 2021. Sophomore and Junior Orientation will be on September 2, 2021. Senior Orientation will be on September 3, 2021.

Q: When is the first day of school?

A: The first day for all students is Tuesday, September 7, 2021.

Q: When will I get my child’s course schedule?

A: Families will be notified of course schedules by the end of July.


Q: Will busing be offered?

A: Yes! A Carpool and Bus Survey was sent to determine where families would like to see stops. We anticipate having bus routes planned by the end of July.

Q: Do you help with arranging carpools?

A: Saint John's Catholic Prep will help facilitate carpools by creating a database of families interested in carpooling. If you choose to respond, SJCP will share your responses with other families interested in carpooling who have completed our questionnaire. We will share the database with families by the end of July.

Q: What time is the school open?

A: Our school day will begin at 8 am. Students may start arriving at 7:30 am. Our end time is still being determined, but it will be no later than 3 pm. Extended school day is provided at no cost until the building closes at 6 pm. The main is office is open from 7:30 am - 4:30 pm.
