Maryland Transportation Law
Maryland Law prohibits drivers under 18 years of age from transporting another under 18 years of age passenger with exception of family members and/or teenagers living in same residence, as described in Trans. Art. § 21-1123 (a)(2) and (a)(3)(i). (a)(2) Except as provided in paragraph (3) of this subsection, a holder of a provisional driver’s license who is under the age of 18 years may not drive a motor vehicle with a passenger under the age of 18 years. (a)(3) The prohibition under paragraph (2) of this subsection: (i) Shall be in effect from the date the provisional license is originally issued until the 151st day after the provisional license was issued.
*Parents are to use their own discretion in allowing their child to drive to events with other students.
