Colleen Crowley, SJCP Class of 2015 was featured on the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation facebook page. This was very fitting that this article was posted on Saturday, March 30, because SJCP held its Mr. Viking Pageant to raise funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation!
This #SaturdaySpotlight features Colleen Crowley – of Colleen’s Crew in Frederick. Not only has she been an active fundraising member of her Team in Frederick, but for the last two years, Colleen, now a Senior at Elon University in Greensboro/Highpoint – has formed her own team – Colleen’s Crew (NC) and is getting organizations from the whole University involved. Her parents Pat and Molly Crowley have served since 1997 as Co-Chairs of the Frederick Great Strides Walk. Each year around 75-100 team members gather in Frederick and their team has raised over $550,000 (in Great Strides and events) since its inception. Pat and Molly attribute their family’s involvement to meeting Linda and Rob Gossweiler – Co-Chairs who founded the Walk more than 20 years ago with “Chrissy’s Team.” Hats off to Colleen for following in the family footsteps and making Great Strides a priority each year. Colleen plans to go to Grad School to get a Masters in Applied Developmental Psychology – with a concentration in “children with special health needs.” While at Elon University, not only did Colleen do well academically but she was also very involved in Campus life – and was a Cheerleader for Elon University Athletics and a member of Tri Delta Sorority. Good luck Colleen!
