By all measures, we had an exceptional year in our Fall Sports program here at Catholic Prep. Along with many individual and team accomplishments, all of the teams showed improvement from years’ past and in their skill in play. It is always interesting to see how some teams start “slow”, while others start “fast”, and then others stay “steady”. Regardless of the tempo, our goals remain the same in team participation, student and skill development, and winning with good sportsmanship. Victory, of course, remains important in varsity athletics and we are proud to be so competitive in the Maryland leagues. We are also proud of our players and our dedicated coaches, who give so much to the sports programs.
The final records of the teams are:
Cross Country - Boys': 9-4
Cross Country - Girls': 10-3
Soccer - Boys' Varsity: 9-6
Soccer - Boys' JV: 2-6-1
Soccer - Girls' Varsity: 7-7
Volleyball - Girls' JV: 8-1
Volleyball - Girls' Varsity: 10-4
Lastly, our Delaplaine Rocca Team Center is moving towards being finished “on time” this December. The interior walls are going up during this writing, with flooring to soon follow.
Winter sports have begun, and we move to girls and boys basketball along with indoor track. Please check out play and current information on our weekly Ahead of the Game!
Cheers,Dan S. Soller Director of Athletics
