Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and was able to relax and enjoy time with family and friends. As always, the break flew by but the Advancement Office is ready to ring in 2018.
I would like to begin the New Year by thanking those of you who have already made a contribution to the school’s annual fund. As you may know, the annual fund closes the gap between tuition and the true cost of the education our students receive. Many of you took advantage of Giving Tuesday this past November and allowed us to surpass our goal of raising $15,000 in one day as we were able to raise $19,520. A very special thank you goes out to Advancement and Communications Specialist Maggie Ballantyne who oversaw this event and whose leadership and hard work made this “banner day” possible.
We were also excited to welcome our alumni back to campus in a special mass we held right before Thanksgiving. Immediately following mass, we held a New Parent Coffee in the Learning Commons for our new families giving them a chance to meet with one another as well as school representatives who were available to answer questions.
The month of December was a busy one for the Admissions Office. On December 2, Saint John’s hosted 90 prospective students for the High School Placement Test which is the school’s required admissions test. By the priority application deadline of December 15, the school received over 100 applications! These applicants will be visiting our campus this month for interviews and then the admissions committee will have the difficult task of making selections for our Class of 2022.
Wishing you blessings in the New Year,Michael W. Schultz ‘00 Executive Director of Advancement
