SJCP students attended Model UN, an all-day event simulating a day at the United Nations. The event, hosted by Hood College and run by FCPS, was a unique and rewarding experience for the over two hundred students in attendance. Students from Maryland, Virginia, and D.C. chose a country, write a position paper from the perspective of their country, and discuss the issues with other students in a General Assembly forum. Students Seth McRoberts, Anthony Pente, Nate Hayes and Jack Guinan enjoyed being delegates from Swaziland, El Salvador, United Arab Emirates and Chad. They discussed issues pertaining to climate change, population growth, religious freedom water scarcity, and journalism.
