SJCP students learned about Alzheimer's disease and caring for those with Alzheimer's from fellow student Kristianna Howard and Splaine Consulting founder, Mr. Michael Splaine. Splaine Consulting works with corporate and non-profit entities to develop advocacy campaigns and policy strategies for Alzheimer’s and dementia, health, public health, and long-term care issues. Kristina Howard presented to our students about Alzheimer's disease and her experience from a very young age when her grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. Mr. Splaine presented to Mr. Krajewski's Business and Social Justice classes. Mr. Splaine shared with the Business class his experience with creating a business plan. Prior to starting his own business, Splaine Consulting, he worked at the Alzheimer's Association. He discussed with the Social Justice classes the topic of Aging and Care for the Elderly in our society. A team has been created for the Western Maryland Walk to End Alzheimer's in Frederick and Kristianna encouraged everyone to register for the walk and join the fight to end Alzheimer's disease and advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
