Mrs. Bernadette Miller encourages her AP Art students to enter the Scholastic Art Awards each year. This year, Nathan Brenengen entered his ceramic work and is a Silver Key Regional Scholastic Art winner. The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards are the nation’s longest-running and most prestigious recognition program for creative teens in grades 7–12. Nathan received a certificate and has been invited to attend an award ceremony where the winning works will be on digital display. The winning artworks will also be on display at School 33 Art Center in Baltimore from March 6 - April 25. This year 3991 works were submitted from talented teens across the state and a panel of professional editors, poets, fiction writers, and visual artists selected the following works to recognize: 526 Honorable Mentions awarded to promising works, 245 Silver Keys awarded to distinguished works, 100 Gold Keys awarded to the most accomplished works, 5 American Voices Nominees selected as the strongest regional works, and 5 American Visions Nominees selected as the strongest regional works. Congratulation Nathan!
