NAHS Students Create Portraits for the Memory Project

Again this year, volunteer artists from the National Art Honor Society participated in The Memory Project, a nonprofit organization that invites art students to create portraits of youth around the world who have faced substantial challenges such as neglect, abuse, loss of parent, violence, and extreme poverty. This year, we received photographs of 12-year-old children, living in Sierra Leone. Our SJCP artists have been working for the past 2 months on their portraits and will send them along with a message of kindness, respect, and encouragement to the children. Receiving the portraits is a truly unique gift that will remind them how very special they are.
