The First Annual Saint John’s Catholic Preparatory School Multi-discipline Student Research Symposium was held on Wednesday, March 27, 2019. Alumnus Shannon Bernier presented research on biofuels she did during a summer internship at NIST. Alumnus Matt O’Dowd presented research on concrete formulation that he did at the University of Maryland. Over seventy Saint John’s students presented posters, videos, models, and talks about their research on a variety of topics including the death penalty in America, analytical instrumentation in chemistry, the history of driver’s education in Maryland, chemical properties and physiological effects of caffeine, biomolecular modeling, mass incarceration and the “carceral state,” and much more.
