McGrath Institute for Church Life at the University of Notre Dame Seminar

On Thursday, April 19, our students had the day off of school, but our administration, teachers, and staff were busy learning! Saint John's hosted the McGrath Institute for Church Life at the University of Notre Dame for a conference on “Teaching at the Interface Between Science & Religion.” Our faculty had a full day of workshops with topics covering “Catholicism and Evolution,” “Science and the Bible: The Catholic Approach to the Relationship,” and “Galileo and the Church: Understanding the Conflict.” They heard from keynote speaker Stephen M. Barr, Ph.D. in the morning on the topic of “Science and Religion: The Myth of Conflict.” In the afternoon, Professor Chris Baglow, Ph.D. spoke to our faculty on “Science and the Christian Faith: Understanding and Correcting Models of Conflict.”

Thank you to our student ambassadors for volunteering on their day off to help with registration.
