Members of the SJCP faculty and staff attended a retreat at the Mount St. Mary's Grotto on August 30, 2018. Following the theme “The Still, Small Voice”, our Director of Campus Ministry, Kate Quinn, created a schedule that would help everyone reclaim silence and peace as the source of our work throughout the school year. Highlights from the day included talking about how prayer plays a role in work, a chance for guided meditation with Gwen Austin, Amy Baum explaining her experience with silence, and group activities. The faculty was also very fortunate to hear from Dr. Joshua Hochschild, author of A Mind at Peace: Reclaiming an Ordered Soul in an Age of Distinction. It was a beautiful day for our faculty to be together at the Grotto. Thank you, Ms. Quinn, for organizing this meaningful retreat.
