Biology Classes Apply Knowledge Learned to Understanding COVID-19

Mr. Nogay’s Biology and Honors Biology classes have explored the practical, “real-life” application of what they have learned this year to the coronavirus pandemic. They covered the following terms as they relate to COVID-9: Antigen (exposure), Antibody, Incubation period, Bacteria characteristics and mode of infection, Virus characteristics and mode of infection, Flu (Influenza), Sanitizer, Disinfectant, Antiseptic, Soap and the mode of operation, Factors related to death rate (comorbidities): Diabetes/Obesity/Hypertension,  Antioxidants, Vitamin D, Vitamin C, Immunity/ Vaccination, Respiratory problems, and Fever (antipyretics). Through distance learning, the students are becoming informed and are learning information that matters and can be used in their lives.
