Administration
Director of Development
Saint John’s Catholic Prep, Maryland’s oldest Catholic High School founded in 1829, is growing. We are seeking a full-time Director of Development who is an experienced fundraising professional able to build philanthropic support for the school. Reporting to the Head of School, the Director of Development creates, implements, and supervises appropriate fundraising strategies to meet the financial goals and targets of the school as set in the annual budget. This position is responsible for strengthening a positive public perception of Saint John’s Catholic Prep in the community, communicating the mission and objectives of the school, and building relationships with donors.
Position Responsibilities:
Fund Development
- Meet and exceed annual fund goals
- Oversee all aspects of the school’s annual Soiree
- With the Athletic Department, oversee all athletic fundraising
- Oversee the final year of the school’s Promises Campaign and solicit/secure gifts
- Conduct donor research and assist in overseeing all databases relating to giving
- Collaborate with the CFO to oversee and grow the Endowment
- Prepare monthly reports on all donations
- Help coordinate and attend Advancement Committee meetings
Experience:
The ideal candidate should have five or more years of fundraising and development experience. The following experience/skills are preferred:
- A track record of successful fundraising, including annual giving, major gifts, and capital campaign execution
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Capability of balancing multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment
- Experience in an independent, Catholic school setting
- A willingness to work collaboratively with all school stakeholders

Director of Technology
Saint John’s Catholic Preparatory School, an independent Catholic coed high school, seeks an experienced, professional, full-time Director of Technology for the 2022-2023 school year. A bachelor’s degree is required, but a master’s degree is preferred. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience in school technology and leadership.
The Director of Technology is a 12-month position, and has the following duties and responsibilities:
Technology background should include, but not be limited to:
- Working directly with academic technology (minimum 3 to 5 Years)
- Server support, backup support
- Networking, Active Directory
- Wireless (Aerohive)
- Sophos firewall
- Setup and maintenance of teacher and student computers
- Printers’ setup and maintenance
Duties include:
- Ordering teacher/student computers and other tech equipment
- Maintain equipment Inventory
- Phone system and Key fobs
- Repairs, in-house or send out to vendor, keeping critical log
- Assist with Blackbaud, student information platform
- Work with Cyberficient, a support company
- New stadium equipment audio, PA and wireless
Ideal candidate should have a teaching and education background that would include the following:
- Having taught (minimum 2-5 years)
- Relate well with faculty, staff, and students
- Prepare student grades
- Google Docs
- Kami, Ed puzzle and other tools
- 1 to 1 student computer program
- PCs vs Chromebooks vs Mac vs iPad
- Worked with classroom technology (i.e. projectors, smartboards, wireless devices, Blue Tooth devices)
- Zoom classes/remote classroom
- AV equipment

Staff
Part-Time Enrollment Specialist
Saint John’s Catholic Prep, Maryland’s oldest Catholic High School founded in 1829 is growing. We are seeking a part-time Enrollment Specialist. This role will be responsible for supporting and promoting the school’s mission, vision and values while assisting in the recruiting of prospective students. The candidate will also work closely with families for the onboarding process of new students throughout the enrollment process.

Position Responsibilities:
Enrollment & Recruiting
Assist the Director of Enrollment with the following:
- Recruiting prospective students & families
- Recruitment fairs
- Support relationship development with partner schools, local parishes & special events
- Support the design and implementation of special value-added activities for prospective students
- Support prospective students and partner school shadow visits
- Master the Enrollment Software system, keep updated and maintained with contact information and details
- Assist with enrollment marketing initiatives
- Assist with communication with prospective families and students
- Assist with the prospective student interview process
- Support with the planning and marketing of open houses and new student and parent orientations
- Assist with the transition and orientation of accepted students
General Duties
- Participate in all campus major events
- Attend monthly staff meetings
- Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Enrollment and/or the Head of School
Experience
The ideal candidate should have two or more years of experience with the following:
- Experience with enrollment with recruiting and following up with candidates or a successful sales record
- Ability to connect and relate cross-generationally
- Track record of collaborate team-work success and volunteer leadership
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience and knowledge of enrollment software, Blackbaud preferred
- Organized and successful at multi-tasking
- High energy, high character and heart for service

Dean of Students
Saint John’s Catholic Preparatory School, an independent Catholic coed high school, seeks an experienced, professional, and energetic full-time Dean of Students for the 2022-2023 school year. A bachelor’s degree is required, but a master’s degree is preferred. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience in school leadership.
The Dean of Students is a 11-month position, and has the following duties and responsibilities:
- Ensures adherence to the school’s Catholic mission and identity in all student activities.
- Enforces the discipline code as set forth in the Parent/Student Handbook.
- Ensures that the Parent/Student Handbook is current and circulates copies to parents and students.
- Proposes changes in discipline or uniform policy.
- Determines fair and appropriate sanctions for student misconduct, consistent with the school procedures.
- Chairs and convenes the Student Discipline Review Board, keeps appropriate minutes and follows-up on recommendations of the Board.
- Maintains a presence in the school hallways and cafeteria to support students, faculty and staff.
- Attends parent conferences as needed.
- Arranges and monitors student detentions.
- Maintains discipline and attendance records.
- Provides written, weekly updates on student discipline issues for the Head of School and Counseling Department.
- Oversees the student and staff ID cards production and administration.
- Assigns student lockers and parking permits.
- Arranges all fire and emergency drills and provides documentation.
- Oversees the safety video system.
- Arranges and oversees all major student activities (e.g. Ring day, dances, Prom, etc.)
- Assists with the recruitment of students.
- Coordinates Extended School Day coverage
- May be asked to teach one course each semester.
- May be asked to cover classes as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.

Teacher - English
Saint John’s Catholic Prep’s English Department is searching for a caring, career-minded education professional to serve as an English teacher in our English Department.
The position will include teaching 11th grade British/European Literature and AP Language and Composition.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan for and teach a full course load; 5 English classes and 1 enrichment class
- Encourage, monitor, and promote student engagement through a positive learning environment
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators
- Identify and/or develop resources to meet the needs of students with varying backgrounds and learning styles
- Incorporate various forms of technology within lessons
- Monitor and evaluate student outcomes
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in English or related field from an accredited institution
- Previous teaching experience in a professional setting preferred
- Positive, creative person

Saint John’s Catholic Prep’s Science Department is searching for a caring, career-minded education professional to serve as a Physics teacher for the 2022-2023 school year.
The position will include teaching all levels of Physics classes, including AP Physics.

- Identify and/or develop resources to meet the needs of students with varying backgrounds and learning styles

Substitute Teacher
Saint John’s Catholic Prep is searching for caring professionals to serve as substitute teachers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assumes all duties and responsibilities of the regular teacher in a given day
- Follows lesson plans provided by classroom teacher to facilitate appropriate learning experiences for students
- Maintains appropriate records in the absence of the teacher
- Supervises students in a variety of school-related settings
- Ensures all materials are read and prepared for instruction
- Monitors student outcomes
- Maintains appropriate records in the absence of the teacher and follows required procedures and practices
- Monitors appropriate use and care of equipment, materials and facilities
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 60 credits of college coursework from an accredited institution
- Clean background check which includes fingerprinting
- Previous teaching experience in a professional setting preferred

Varsity Girls' Basketball Head Coach
Saint John’s Catholic Prep is hiring an experienced head varsity girls basketball coach for the 2022-23 season.
Saint John’s Catholic Prep has an exciting position available for a qualified and enthusiastic Head Varsity Girls Basketball Coach for the 2022-23 season. The chosen candidate will teach techniques and skills while providing mentorship to build a sense of comradery within the SJCP community. Saint John’s Catholic Prep participates in the IAAM B Conference for Girls Basketball.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Ability to hold teaching or administrative position to reach full-time status (Potential openings)
- Leadership experience within a competitive program
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of the nature of college preparatory school
Preferred:
- Master’s degree
- Experienced High School, Club Level, or College-Level coaching
- Teacher of an academic class
- Demonstrated success in a high school setting
