Administration
Staff
Staff Accountant – Bookkeeper
The Staff Accountant – Booker position is a 12month, full time position, reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer. This position is eligible for all benefits afforded all full-time employees. This position works a 40-hour work week and may be required to work occasional overtime/weekends (see faculty/staff handbook).
This position’s responsibilities include:
- Processing and recording accounts payable. Preparing bill payment checks for signature. Recording tuition payments, miscellaneous receipts, and cash receipts.
- Tracking and recording enrollment contracts and tuition deposits. Recording tuition, fees, and financial aid awards to student accounts.
- Verifying financial aid awards with Director of Enrollment Management. Maintaining spreadsheet for tuition and aid.
- Setting up billing for bus contracts. Maintaining rider list.
- Counting and recording daily cash receipts. Preparing deposits. Taking deposits to bank.
- Assisting parents in set up for automatic tuition (FACTS) payment accounts.
- Responding to inquiries for accounts payable.
- Assisting staff in purchase order preparation. Ascertaining proper signatures are obtained.
- Filing, shredding as necessary.
- Processing all payments via credit card and enter into QuickBooks. Entering all checks received into QuickBooks, regardless of nature of check origination or destination. Entering all online donations into QuickBooks.
- Reconciling various accounts on a regular basis with Advancement Office.
- Assist in the month-end reconciliation process and enter Journal Entries as necessary.
- Other tasks as assigned by Business Manager.
Qualifications:
This position requires a associates degree in Accounting and 1-3 years of experience. This position must know QuickBooks and the fundamentals of GAAP accounting.
School and College Counselor
Saint John’s Catholic Prep is currently seeking candidates for the position of School / College Counselor.
Qualifications
A Master’s Degree in School Counseling or the equivalent is required for this position. The qualified candidate has experience working in a high school setting and possesses strong individual and group counseling skills. Experience in the college search and admissions process is required.
Skills
The qualified candidate will demonstrate excellent communication, listening, problem-solving, time management and organizational skills. The ability to work in a fast-paced work environment and pivot to address urgent situations is essential. Candidates should be able to work independently as well as collaboratively with teachers and administration. The school/college counselor will build effective and supportive relationships with students and demonstrate proficiency in mental health challenges facing high school students, as well as the college admissions process.
Responsibilities
The School/College Counselor will:
- Meet with students individually to offer short term/solution focused counseling
- Facilitate student groups as needed
- Assist students with the college search, application and admissions process
- Provide programming to students, staff, and parents in the areas of the college admissions process, mental health and wellness, and strategies for academic success
- Consult with mental health professionals in the community
- Support and communicate with parents as appropriate
- Consult with teachers and administrators
- Communicate and collaborate with the Student Support Services team to provide appropriate support to students and members of the school community
- Serve as a member of the school’s crisis intervention team
- Serve as a member of school’s Academic Council committee

Dean of Students
Saint John’s Catholic Preparatory School, an independent Catholic coed high school, seeks an experienced, professional, and energetic full-time Dean of Students. A bachelor’s degree is required, but a master’s degree is preferred. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience in school leadership.
The Dean of Students is a 11-month position, and has the following duties and responsibilities:
- Ensures adherence to the school’s Catholic mission and identity in all student activities.
- Enforces the discipline code as set forth in the Parent/Student Handbook.
- Ensures that the Parent/Student Handbook is current and circulates copies to parents and students.
- Proposes changes in discipline or uniform policy.
- Determines fair and appropriate sanctions for student misconduct, consistent with the school procedures.
- Chairs and convenes the Student Discipline Review Board, keeps appropriate minutes and follows-up on recommendations of the Board.
- Maintains a presence in the school hallways and cafeteria to support students, faculty and staff.
- Attends parent conferences as needed.
- Arranges and monitors student detentions.
- Maintains discipline and attendance records.
- Provides written, weekly updates on student discipline issues for the Head of School and Counseling Department.
- Oversees the student and staff ID cards production and administration.
- Assigns student lockers and parking permits.
- Arranges all fire and emergency drills and provides documentation.
- Oversees the safety video system.
- Arranges and oversees all major student activities (e.g. Ring day, dances, Prom, etc.)
- Assists with the recruitment of students.
- Coordinates Extended School Day coverage
- May be asked to teach one course each semester.
- May be asked to cover classes as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.

Substitute Teacher
Saint John’s Catholic Prep is searching for caring professionals to serve as substitute teachers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assumes all duties and responsibilities of the regular teacher in a given day
- Follows lesson plans provided by classroom teacher to facilitate appropriate learning experiences for students
- Maintains appropriate records in the absence of the teacher
- Supervises students in a variety of school-related settings
- Ensures all materials are read and prepared for instruction
- Monitors student outcomes
- Maintains appropriate records in the absence of the teacher and follows required procedures and practices
