Staff
High School Counselor and College Advisor
High School Counselor and College Advisor
Saint John’s Catholic Prep is looking for an enthusiastic school counselor to join our school’s Student Support Center, which is comprehensive in scope, preventative in design, and developmental in nature. We have an opening for a High School and College Counselor who would join our existing team to assist students with a variety of academic, social/emotional, and college/career skills through classroom lessons, individual meetings, school assemblies, educational workshops, and more. Counselors also provide direct, short-term, solution-focused counseling services to students.
Key Responsibilities:
The High School Counselor and College Counselor will:
- Meet with students individually to offer short term/solution focused counseling
- Facilitate student groups as needed
- Assist students with the college search, application, and admissions process
- Provide programming to students, staff, and parents in the areas of the college admissions process, mental health and wellness, and strategies for academic success
- Consult with mental health professionals in the community
- Support and communicate with parents as appropriate
- Consult with teachers and administrators
- Communicate and collaborate with the Student Support Services team to provide appropriate support to students and members of the school community
- Serve as a member of the school’s crisis intervention team
Qualifications:
- A Master’s Degree in School Counseling or the equivalent is required for this position.
- The qualified candidate has experience working in a high school setting and possesses strong individual and group counseling skills.
- Experience in the college search and admissions process is required.
Skills:
- The qualified candidate will demonstrate excellent communication, listening, problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced work environment and pivot to address urgent situations is essential.
- Candidates should be able to work independently as well as collaboratively with teachers and administration.
- The school/college counselor will build effective and supportive relationships with students and demonstrate proficiency in mental health challenges facing high school students, as well as the college admissions process.
Compensation: $55,000

IT Support Technician/IT Specialist (Tier 1)
IT Support Technician/IT Specialist (Tier 1)
Saint John’s Catholic Preparatory School, an independent Catholic coed high school, seeks an experienced, professional, full-time IT Support Technician/IT Specialist. This Tier 1 position is in-person. A bachelor’s degree is required. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in school technology and at least five years of industry experience.
The IT Support Technician/IT Specialist is a 12-month position. This Tier 1 position reports to the Head of School as well as our external MSP (Managed Service Provider).
Duties include:
- Ordering teacher/student computers and other tech equipment
- Maintain equipment Inventory
- Phone system and Key fobs
- Repairs, in-house or send out to vendor, keeping critical log
- Assist with Blackbaud student information platform
- New stadium equipment, audio, PA, and wireless
- Setup and maintenance of teacher and student computers
- Printer setup and maintenance
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in an IT Support Technician or IT Specialist role
- 2+ years of experience working directly with academic technology
- Networking, Active Directory
- Wireless networking
- Setup and maintenance of computers (for students and faculty), printers, and other devices
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Relate well with faculty, staff, and students
- Familiarity with:
- 1-to-1 student computer program

Substitute Teacher
Saint John’s Catholic Prep is searching for caring professionals to serve as substitute teachers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assumes all duties and responsibilities of the regular teacher in a given day
- Follows lesson plans provided by classroom teacher to facilitate appropriate learning experiences for students
- Maintains appropriate records in the absence of the teacher
- Supervises students in a variety of school-related settings
- Ensures all materials are read and prepared for instruction
- Monitors student outcomes
- Maintains appropriate records in the absence of the teacher and follows required procedures and practices
- Monitors appropriate use and care of equipment, materials and facilities
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators as needed

Qualifications:
