Founded in 1829, Saint John’s Catholic Prep has the distinction of being Maryland's oldest Catholic high school. Located on 66 acres in Frederick County, Saint John’s Catholic Prep educates students in a joyful Catholic community and prepares them to be leaders with good hearts and discerning spirits.

SJCP offers a rigorous college preparatory program, dual enrollment with Mount St. Mary’s University, and guaranteed admission and scholarship programs with partner colleges/universities.

SJCP has 20 athletic teams that compete in the IAAM and MIAA, as well as more than 25 student-run clubs and activities. Our newest facilities are the Warner Stadium with a turf field and the 9,000-square-foot Delaplaine Fine Arts Wing. Whether on the field or in the classroom, our sense of community sets us apart. Class of 2026 Awards received:

Catholic Daughters of the Americas Award of Merit was presented to Sara Micaela Russell.

National Honor Society Scholarship Award was presented to Catherine Jean Power and Julia Catherine Riordan.

Balfour Service Award was presented to Isabelle Marie Piraino.

Friends of Catholic Education Mount Saint Mary’s Awards were presented to Lydia Joyce Lively, Nathaniel Francis Sutterman, and Alexa Rocio Velasquez-Flores.

Dr. Christopher M. Hassett Science Scholarship was presented to Sophia Sarah Schubert.

State Merit Scholastic Awards were presented to Noah Lane Benton, Brian Jerick Casabar, Silas Jack Eaton, and Julia Catherine Riordan.

Pierce Athletic Awards of Excellence were presented to Julia Catherine Riordan and Noah Lane Benton.

Currently, we have four bus routes: Montgomery County, Frederick County East, Frederick County West, and West Virginia.

If you are interested in having your student ride the bus, please select the route and stop location. Sign the agreement and return it, along with the Bus Rider Emergency Card to the Business Office, Saint John’s Catholic Prep. Please keep the route time schedule for your reference. Please note that the times and stops are subject to change as student needs are determined.

PLEASE NOTE:

You will be charged for bus service based on your contract selection. For any changes in ridership during the year (sports, new driver, car pool change) you MUST contact the SJCP Business Office (301) 662-4210 at the time of the change.
The bus departs from the bus stops at the times listed above. No Waiting.
The bus driver has the authority to deny transportation to those students who fail to obey the driver’s directions or rules posted in the school bus and the student handbook.
IMPORTANT: The exact stops and times are subject to change depending on area of demand, stop conditions, and actual travel time. You will be notified of changes. On occasion, stops may be cancelled or changed to accommodate school schedules, i.e., half days.
