Prom: Get your ticket for “Under the Stars” on Friday, April 28thas we hold our Junior/Senior Prom at Musket Ridge Country Club. Tickets are $ 25 per person. Seniors, you attend free be must get a ticket. All students must have a ticket to attend.
Any junior / senior who was unable to get prom tickets before Easter vacation can email Mrs. Stewart at firstname.lastname@example.org and reserve a ticket. All reservations must be sent BY FRIDAY APRIL 21. Please indicate name and number of tickets needed. Tickets are $25 per person. Payment must be made when students return to school on Monday, April 24th.
Sylvan is offering a free practice full length SAT and ACT tests on April 17 or April 19, 11am-2pm. See the counseling office for more information.
Attention Juniors: Your resume, Parent Information Form and Student Information Form are due to Mrs. Anders by May 1. These forms were discussed during the General College Admissions Presentations as well as in your individual 4 year planning meetings. The forms can be accessed on your Naviance account and the resume can be completed on Naviance as well. Spring Break is the perfect time to complete these items.
Want to be a student ambassador next year? There will be a brief meeting in the gym during FLEX on Monday, April 24th for any freshmen, sophomores, or juniors interested in applying to be a Student Ambassador for the 2017-2018 school year. If you cannot attend this meeting but would like to apply, please see Mr. Schultz in the Advancement Office.
Attention Seniors: Thinking of attending FCC in the Fall? FCC Foundation Scholarships Applications for Fall Semester Scholarships will be accepted: April 1 – June 30. Available scholarships include those based on need, merit, program, or unique talent. Check the FCC Scholarship website on April 1 for the application.
In addition, The Admissions Office at Frederick Community College is looking for student ambassadors for the fall semester. Each year 20-25 Frederick County high school seniors are awarded the Ambassador Scholarship for maintaining a 3.5 GPA through high school. The Ambassador Program provides the student an opportunity to participate in service learning opportunities on campus. Check the FCC website to apply.
Service Hour Opportunity: Saint John’s will be holding its annual Spring Open House on Thursday, April 27th from 6 – 7:30 PM and we are looking for student volunteers. If you would like to help out with the open house and earn community service hours, please see Mr. Schultz and sign up outside the Advancement Office.

Washington University in St. Louis is have an admissions information session at the Hyatt Regency in Bethesda on Sunday, April 23, 2-3pm. The session will cover academic programs, life on campus, and how to apply for admissions and financial aid. No reservation needed.

Loyola University is offering an online summer program to help high school students improve comprehension in both fiction and nonfiction and learn to read twice as fast. Students will learn the best way to read, study textbooks, and take notes. Please see school counseling for more information.
School mass in the chapel: Mass will now be said on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 3:00pm. Please join us. All are welcome.

All students please check the College Corner on the SJCP website regularly to learn about college open houses, internships and programs for high school students.
Medications at school: If your student needs to take any medications at school from a cough drop to Epipens for allergies or asthma inhalers, you will need to have your doctor fill out the HealthLink medication at school form each school year and the asthma action plan, diabetes protocol or allergic reaction plan if your student is diabetic or needs to carry an inhaler or Epipen at school. All medications must be left in the main office (exceptions are Epipens and inhaler) and cannot be administered without proper documentation. Each medication must have a separate form. Your child's doctor must sign off on your student carrying an inhaler or Epipen and a separate action plan must accompany each order. Please contact Mrs. Petrie with any questions.
