Make a Gift to Saint John’s Catholic Prep What is the Annual Fund?
The Annual Fund is Saint John’s Catholic Prep Annual Giving campaign. The generous support and dedicated commitment of alumni, parents and friends allows Saint John’s to continue to strengthen its financial future. Each donation acts as a bridge between the funds generated by tuition and fees, and the actual cost of educating a student. Contributions to the Annual Fund support the school’s operating budget for scholarships, faculty/staff salaries and benefits, energy and maintenance costs associated with operating the building and grounds, curriculum and programming. Saint John’s does not receive any federal, state, or local funding or financial contributions from the Archdiocese, parishes, or from any religious orders.
How much should I give to the Annual Fund?
Only you can decide how much to give. Charitable giving is a personal decision. We ask that all members of the community make Saint John’s Catholic Prep a philanthropic priority and contribute to the best of their ability. Remember, your contribution will directly enhance the educational experience of each one of our students. We value gifts of all sizes, and every gift matters.
Doesn’t tuition cover the cost of educating each student?
Tuition payments and related fees provide approximately 90% of the school’s annual operating budget. The Annual Fund provides a significant source of revenue that helps bridge the gap between tuition income and the full cost of a Saint John’s education, including funding for need based and merit scholarships.
Why not raise tuition to cover the full cost?
Although we must raise tuition to provide for growth of faculty salaries and school programs, no independent school could charge full cost without pricing itself out of the market. We believe that a Saint John’s education should be accessible to as many talented, deserving young students as possible. A diverse student population enriches the educational experience for all of our students and their families.
How important is the Annual Fund to Saint John’s?
The experience of learning at Saint John’s is an intense and rewarding one. While Saint John’s carefully stewards it resources, the cost of this experience cannot be sustained by tuition alone. In the absence of a substantial endowment, your support for the Annual Fund plays a critical role in meeting the annual financial needs of the school and its programs.
Is my gift tax-deductible?
Saint John’s is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit educational institution and we invite you to make a fully tax-deductible investment in our school.

Please check with your Human Resources department for proper documentation as an easy way to double your gift. In the past Saint John’s has received employer matching gifts from Bank of America, IBM, Fannie Mae, Morgan Stanley and Constellation Energy.
