Saint John’s Catholic Prep hosted 22 students from Jin Hua No. 1 School in China for an international camp. Dr. Powell, Mr. Minsker, and Mr. Schultz welcomed the group and gave an overview of the school. The students were given a tour of the campus and participated in a scavenger hunt. Over the weekend our guests spent the morning touring Georgetown University. Saint John's graduate Austin Rose, Class of 2014, gave students a tour of his university, sharing with them the history of the oldest Catholic University in the United States. During the tour, students saw Old North and the steps where multiple Presidents, including George Washington, have given speeches over the years. Afterward, students and chaperones visited the National Mall, posing for pictures in front of the US Capitol building and visiting a variety of museums, including Smithsonian’s Air and Space and the National Gallery of Art.
We would like to thank these students for visiting our country and our school. We hope you enjoyed your visit! Thank you to all of our volunteers, faculty members, and chaperones who made this camp such a great success.
