At the 2017 Teacher Appreciation Dinner hosted by Friends of Catholic Education, Inc., Bernadette Miller was honored as Saint John's Catholic Prep's Teacher of the Year!
Mrs. Miller has a great eye for design, impeccable taste in art, and brings a vivacious spirit to our school's Fine Arts department. She has rebuilt the school's Art Club and started a chapter of the National Art Honor Society. Students at Saint John’s are energized about visual arts, and the work that Mrs. Miller and the Art Club completed is testimony to her exciting ideas and ability to channel students’ creativity in positive and meaningful ways. Some of these projects include exhibits at the Delaplaine Art Center and the recent Memory Project for poor children in Colombia.
One upperclassmen who has taken multiple classes with Mrs. Miller over the years says, “Mrs. Miller has a big heart and an even bigger appreciation for cool projects and assignments. She knows how to get the best out of us and makes us ALL feel like true artists!”
As a mom of three and parishioner at St. Peter’s, Mrs. Miller has all of the qualities that make an exceptional Catholic teacher: "encouraging others, inspiring greatness, and providing a positive role model for students."
Congratulations Bernadette and thank you for all you do for our students!
