Student Appreciation Day today: Students will be in full uniform for Mass at 10:30am and then head to a free lunch of pizza, chicken casaer salad, ice cream. The cafeteria will not be selling items tomorrow.

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY

For late openings, early dismissals, and school closings due to inclement weather or other factors, Saint John's Catholic Prep follows Frederick County, Maryland Public Schools. Please check our home page for information usually posted shortly after 5 am or when Frederick County announces the schedule change. We also use “School's Out”, which is a service that allows schools the ability to broadcast emergency notifications to parents.  To sign up with School's Out; visit the web site at http://www.schoolsout.com.  Simply sign up to receive emails concerning Saint John's Catholic Prep late openings, early dismissals, or school closings. For a small fee, School's Out will send this information to your cell phone.

Student Appreciation Day

Seniors:  This is a reminder to bring in your permission slip and eleven dollars for the Senior field trip to the Folger Shakespeare Theatre.  These are due to your English teacher by Monday, Feb 6th.

Service Hour Opportunity: Special Olympics is in need of people to help. They would love some of you to volunteer as coaches, buddies, timers, scorekeepers, and lots of other help too.  They are starting basketball and swimming, have skiing, and will be doing other spring sports too. After school Wednesday Feb 8th, there will be two representatives from Special Olympics here on campus to inform, answer questions, and take applications. It’s a great way to earn community service hours and truly give.  Make plans to be there

College Athletics Speaker: We wanted to make you aware that during Parent/Teacher Conferences, which are scheduled for Thursday, February 16th, Jack Mehl from Hood College will be here to speak about college athletics. When you call to schedule times to meet with your children’s teachers you can also sign up for that particular time slot which will be from 5:30-6:00 PM in the McSherry Gymnasium if you’d like to learn more about the process involved for student-athletes continuing to participate in athletics at the collegiate level. We will also be having Andy Carpel here to talk about recruiting in terms of game films, etc. Please feel free to contact the Counseling Office for additional information or if you have any questions. Students are welcome to attend.

Girls’ Varsity Basketball: Early dismissal at 1:45pm and the bus leaves at 2:00pm.

Indoor Track: Early dismissal today at 12:45pm and the bus leaves at 1:00pm.

Away games:

Indoor Track: IAAM/MIAA Indoor Track Conference Championships at Prince Georges' Sports Complex. beginning at 3:30pm.

Girls' Varsity Basketball: Varsity plays away against Chapelgate at 4:00pm.

JV and Varsity Boys' Basketball: The teams play away at Park. JV begins at 4:00pm and Varsity tips off at 5:30pm.
